Not One Single Word About Feeding The Hungry

SO THEN, WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?

“The Wildomar Community Council (WCC) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation. The general purpose of this corporation is to further and promote the common interest and public welfare of the residents and land owners of the city of Wildomar. The council will seek out grants and donations for this general purpose. The objective of this corporation is to benefit the city of Wildomar.

The specific purpose of this corporation is to work to educate the public on the common interests and welfare of the community including the conservation of natural resources and habitats, the preservation of open spaces, the development of trails, parks and recreation areas and other such issues as may be important to the residents and landholders of the area. The council will also educate the people of Wildomar on the history of their community . This will be accomplished through publishing pamphlets and other materials, holding public forums, arranging meetings with the residents and maintaining a dialogue with all the agencies and groups that impact the city of Wildomar.”

The above is a verbatim quote from the  “About Us” section of the Wildomar Community Council (“WCC”)website.

Not one single word about feeding the hungry.

Why does a “501 (c) 3″ tax exempt organization attempt to do something that it’s own charter does not embrace?

Why would the leaders of this organization risk loss of their status with the IRS while attempting to raise money, including money from a public source like the City of Wildomar, to do something that it’s own charter does not identify as a reason for it’s existence?

This is not about being critical of charity, which most people would support in one way or another.

No, this is about community leaders willfully breaking rules as to the seeking of and disbursing of tax-exempt monies for some unknown reason.

Rather than Zak offering up his own explanations, Zak will forego parody and satire, for the present, and wait for an explanation from the WCC to the public, especially to Wildomar’s taxpaying citizen’s who have had $1,500 lifted from their wallets.
